Obituary for Lorraine T. Bowman

Lorraine Bowman was born October 11, 1961 in Louisville, Kentucky. She was the fifth of seven children born to Mr. Luke Bowman Jr. and Mrs. Odessa James Bowman. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Lauriel Bowman and her brothers Sharer Lee Bowman and Luke Bowman III.

Lorraine accepted Christ at an early age at Marrs Memorial Baptist Church. Later she joined Bethel Baptist Church where she was a devoted member and faithfully served on the Nurse’s Guild. When her time would come to work the Nurse’s Guild we jokingly called her “Sister Odell.”

Lorraine graduated from Western High School in 1979 and attended Technical Community College. She previously held positions as a bus driver for both Jefferson County Public Schools and TARC. She loved serving her community and did so diligently and with pride. Her last job was with Harbor House of Louisville, were she worked as a transportation specialist serving persons with special needs.

Lorraine was a devout Louisville Cardinals Fan! She loved to be amongst family and friend celebrating life. Happiness filled her soul and Laughter filled her spirit. She will truly be missed.

On September 8, 2020, Our beloved mother, grandmother, Great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend gained her wings. She peacefully passed. She leaves to cherish her memories one daughter; Lanesha Bowman, grandchildren; Raymond Cosby, Corey Carr, and Jaida Bowman; two sisters Zelda Bowman, and Kim Bowman; One brother, Don Bowman; one Great-Grand Child , Raymond Cosby Jr., and a host of nieces, nephews, and many more loving family and friends.

Visitation: Wednesday, September 16, 2020 starting at 5:00 P.M until 8 :00 P.M. at Hathaway & Clark Funeral Home, Inc., 2718 Virginia Avenue. Service: Thursday, September 17, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at Bethel Baptist Church, 3540 Garland Avenue.

Interment: Green Meadows Cemetery.
